The MNT Leadership also urged the members to ensure that
they vote APC in the upcoming Governorship and State Assembly Elections on
Saturday, 18th of March, 2023.
According to the release signed by Comrade Victor
Edward-Ogba, National Chairman and Hon. Dave Esokpunwu, National Secretary of
MNT and made available to the media on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, “The leadership
of the MNT hereby expressed its heartfelt appreciation to all highly treasured members of the MNT for
contributing their bits in our various polling units, wards, local governments
areas and states towards ensuring that the All Progressives Presidential
candidate as well as some of the Senatorial and House of Representatives
candidates emerged victorious in the just concluded Presidential and National
Assembly Elections held on Saturday, February, 2023.”
MNT maintained that the victory achieved at the polls was
not just for the President elect, the National Assembly elects, but it is also
for the MNT as a body “Indeed the victory is not only meant for the president
elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the elected APC Senatorial and House of
Representatives members and the overall APC structure to celebrate. It is also
for all the members of the MNT to celebrate considering the belief we had in
the cause ab initio and the active role we played subsequently in our
respective places of abode to bring about the victory. For this, we say
congratulations to all members of MNT.”
MNT encouraged the members to continue to support APC even
though they were not being rewarded, adding that they will be rewarded at the
appointed time “We however want to say that we should not relent yet on our
oars. Though we are not being rewarded for our efforts, let us have it at the
back of our heart that we are doing it for the collective good of our dear
country; and God willing, we will be adequately rewarded at the appointed time.”
On the upcoming Governorship and State Assembly Elections, the
leadership of MNT charged members to not just vote for APC, but to also convince
other members of the society on the need to vote APC across board, adding that the
elections are even more crucial to the people. “We should not sit back and fold
our hands. In fact, this sets of election coming up on the same day, Saturday,
March 18, 2023, should be considered more crucial to us as we deserve good
governance in our respective states which ultimately will simmer down to the
local governments areas, wards, neighbourhoods, streets, houses and our
households.
“In the light of the above stated facts, we urge all the
members of the MNT to be pro-active once again in their respective places of
abode. And in line with our collective decision earlier taken to work with the
APC in this political dispensation, for which we were handed a formal letter of
recognition by the APC National Chairman, we call on all members of MNT to vote
APC candidates across board in these two elections coming up on the same day.
We should not stop alone at giving our vote, but to also solicit support and
galvanize others including our friends, peers, associates, and relatives to do
same,” MNT stated,” MNT stated.
