Bishop Titus Onyeozirila Akanabu of Seed of Life
Christian Mission, Owerri and Chairman Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Imo
State chapter recently disclosed the importance of prayer, stressing that it
ensures consolidation and institution of peace for national development.
While speaking at Mgbidi, Imo State during the Lords
Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries’ crusade recently, he stated that as a
body of Christ PFN has a primary mandate of praying for the state and nation.
“We as a body of Children of God, ministers of God,
Bishops, pastors, evangelists, missionaries, prayer is very important to consolidate
and institute peace,” he said.
He maintained that his branch prays for the good
governance of Imo State, “PFN has been a serious Christian body in Imo State
and has been doing a very great work. One of the great works PFN does is
prayer, praying for the government, but we have not been fully privileged to
have very smooth governance within these two, three years.
“As I am talking you now, there is what we are doing
in our local governments, I and my executives we have been touring the 27 local
governments of Imo State preaching messages of hope, messages of courage, because
the world where we live now is full of discouraging events, we also personally
from time to time, get close to them, the people at the head, to share with
them the cry of the people.
“For instance, Civil servants are saying they have
not been paid. Some pensioners too are saying they have not been paid. Sometimes
when we get to some high level meetings, we chip in these clamourings because
every governor must have advisers, every president must have advisers.
“So the major assignment of PFN in Imo State,
Nigeria, cardinally is to pray for the good governance of the state, the
country, advise them also when they are going wrong, without compromising our
Christian faith,’ Akanabu said.
On second wave of Covid-19 and measures put in place
by Government he said “The bible says we should respect every authority in the
land, governance, we should pray for them, we should also submit to the
ordinances of the laws of the land where we belong. However, there has been a
lot of complexities, and intricacies about these covid-19, about these pandemic
right from time January 2020 when the wave started trickling in, but the
almighty God was gracious enough to save you and I, at least whatever happened
in several parts of the world, we did not witness it too much, though all of us
face the lockdown seriously.
“But this time around, there is this vaccination they
are talking about; that people have to be vaccinated, but you know, everybody
has a DNA that is controlling his life, you know certain things can be altered
in human life. Inasmuch as we are not going to say no to government, but in
terms of vaccination or anything that has to be injected in any human being you
have the right to say inject me or not.
“You remember if anybody is to undergo surgery in any
medical centre, somebody will come there and sign, do you want us to perform
this operation or not, which means the medical doctors know that if you reject the
operation they leave you, so anything that has to do with injection into your
body chemistry, anything that has to do with taking your blood because blood is
life, or injecting something that may eventually alter a chemistry of your life,
medically you are qualify to say no or yes to any injection. It is not
compulsory,” Akanabu maintained.
He call on Nigerians to rely heavily on God for
healing “So for whatever that is called corona virus, I would also say that we
should depend on the almighty God who has kept us, if not God all of us would
have gone off, all of us would have perished. We know the volume of people that
perished in America, Italy, China and the rest of them. But here God has
actually granted us grace.”
Speaking on relationship of Lords Chosen and PFN he
said “The value you have is what gives you your brand name. The value inside of
you is your brand name. By every ramification, Lords Chosen, as charismatic as
they are, as revivalists as they are, as preaching salvation ministry as they
have been doing, as preaching healing and miracle, is there anything Jesus said
we should do that you are not finding here?” He asked
