act of presenting the breaking, “Just as the coconut is cracked open to reveal
its richness within; so too do we all as alumni carry within us a wealth of
knowledge, experience and connection forged during our time together and which
we’re learning to the new graduates.
As we break this coconut, we remember the
memories we have made, the challenges we have overcome and the bonds we have
formed.
“We honour the past, celebrate the present and
look forward to a bright future. Let us embrace the spirit of this ceremony,
just as we embrace our time together. Let us continue to support each other to
lift each other up and to make a positive impact in the world.
“Together, let us break open new
possibilities, just as we break open this coconut at this ceremony today. We
wish you the graduating set a successful celebration and trusting God for your
accomplishments in the years to come, so you can be able to pay back to your
Alma mater.”
