Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has warned Nigeria’s indigenous telecommunication giant, Globacom, against a gang up by her competitors in the industry.
Primate Ayodele made the disclosure at the presentation of the 30th edition of the his annual prophecy book titled Warnings To The Nations which took place at INRI International Headquarters on Saturday, 6th of July, 2024 in Lagos.
The Servant of the Most High God who advised Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to increase support for the country’s only indigenous telecommunication company, , also revealed that there are plans by the rival companies to lure away the company’s senior staff.
He said, “Globacom will boost the economy of Nigeria, government must not just encourage them, government should support them. The Government should encourage them more than the foreign companies. All these Airtel and 9mobile, MTN, are foreign communication companies. Globacom will add value to Tinubu’s government any time from now, it will help government in terms of communication.
“There will be serious telecommunication gang up against Globacom. There are also plans to withdraw some of the company’s top staff, Globacom must beware of that,” he said.
Primate Ayodele also stated that government will increase VAT and data, but warned that any attempt to do that will result in protest. “Government should not do so because the people can go crazy about it by protesting, and there will be a serious network problem as from August to September in all the network including Globacom itself.”
Primate Ayodele made it known that Globacom has the capacity to help Nigeria overcome economic challenges but the government must support them in order to increase this capacity. He stated that the company will create more employment if the needed support is given.
However, he warned that the establishment of another indigenous telecommunication company will lead to unnecessary rivalry and will not be healthy for Nigeria’s economy. He advised that instead of establishing another company, all resources should be put together to support Globacom.
‘’Let the government support indigenous telecommunication companies because they will create more employment. We don’t need so much to avoid rivalry. We shouldn’t bring up any other indigenous telecommunication apart from Glo, we should put resources together to support this one we have.’’
‘’Glo has come to stay
and has the capacity to create an economic boom for President Tinubu’s
administration. Let’s support our own instead of creating unnecessary rivalry
that will lead to calamity for the country.’’
