Council, OYC, has advised those agitating for Restoration of Biafra to focus on
universally accepted peaceful referendum.
The group handed the call while directing agitators to
disregard rumour of Federal Government’s plan to establish a military barracks
in Afara-Ukwu, Abia State, the country home of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the
Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
In a statement signed
by its National Vice President, Comrade Obinna Achionye, the group also
admonished the Federal Government to urgently rebuild the Palace of Eze Israel
Kanu of Afara Ukwu, father of Kanu, allegedly destroyed last September when
soldiers raided it in search of the IPOB leader.
The youths said
rebuilding the palace could go a long way in assuaging the anger of the
community on the illegal invasion of the community by soldiers.
“After our investigation, we assure IPOB that there is
no iota of truth on the planned establishment of a mini military barracks in
Afara.
“Though we are not holding forth for Federal Government or Abia state
Government on the issue, but it is high time we reconcile with all agitators
and heal the wounds of Python Dance which left many Igbo youths dead, many Igbo
youths are still in the morgue and we are worried of how they will be buried”.
