Ohanaeze President Lagos Chapter was never arrested, says Ozonweke

Success Damian:

Ohanaeze Lagos Chapter has stated as false the allegation that their president, Chief Solomon Ogbonna, was arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS).

In a press release by the Secretary, Chief Everest Ozonweke, such allegation is a figment of imagination of the originator.

The statement read verbatim: When a hand shake goes beyond the palms, lots of meaning is read to what should have been a simply gesture of complement's.

In the past few weeks Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State has gone through unimaginable circumstances in hands of detractors and seeker's of cheap  popularity,

No past President of Ohanaeze have ever been subjected to the kind of inhuman and unwholesome treatment by those we entrusted with Responsibility’s as Leaders of Ndigbo in Lagos.

The dragging of the President's name and reputations to the mud through campaign of calumny, unfounded allegations to smear his public image and attempt to discredit the noble achievements made so far, is an action taking against the sanctuary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos and her Esteem Members.

Chief Solomon Ogbonna as the elected president of Ohanaeze Lagos State has with him the collective mandate and social Trust of members as author ego of the organization.

Within the three months Ohanaeze Lagos leadership has received numerous police invitations based on petitions written against the organization within Lagos and Abuja by few members of the present executive whose sole aim is to ground the activities of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos.

Even the National Executive directive for stay of action was vehemently rejected by these unscrupulous elements.

In the Spirit oneness, peace and reconciliation various calls for an amicable resolution by stakeholders and some Elders meet a brick wall.

Their passion for destruction can be felt within the sphere's of their presence.

The President have the vested powers to take some decisive actions against these members but still he believed that one day they will come to terms with reality of Leadership and responsibility.

We have seen the writings of baseless petitions, falls rumors of arrest of the President and some principal officials, illusive propaganda and newspaper publications to instigate credibility question against Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State

I am making this submission based on the online publication of Newworld of 4th October 2019. Of purported  arrest and release of  the president of Ohanaeze Ndogbo Lagos State and investigation of his person by the DSS.

There is no invitation of the president by the DSS not to talk of him being arrested by the operatives nor being under investigation. It is all a husk that end to not.

The publishers of the illusive and false article should not be hesitant to own up to the consequences of such publications in line with the act of journalism.

However we are not against punishment, nor taking of drastic measures on any official that is found wanting upon investigation in line with Ohanaeze Constitution and By-law of 2006.

Many of our members have sacrificed much time, energy and resources for the overall interest of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, the reward of their good act is fulfillment of their dreams (Unity Amongst Ndigbo)

I must
at this point
thank the Nigerian Police for the professionalism displayed while handling the petitions against Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State both in Lagos and Abuja, it totally changed my perceptions with shift of paradigm.

This was made possible with our presentation of convincing facts and figures before the authorities.
In spite of the ongoing, the leadership of Chief Solomon Ogbonna remains resolute in good service delivery to Ndigbo in Lagos.
More than ever the crisis has became a  Golden Tonic and stepping stone to the leadership, it has further exposed the President to levels of Maturity and links, strong synergy with powers that be.
Directives on further actions will be made known by the leadership soon
Counting on the continuous support of members.  ONLY THE BEST IS GOOD ENOUGH
.
Thanks Chief Everest Ozonweke, State Secretary, Ohaneze, Lagos.
