Igbo buru otu launches NGO, as Nwokedi solicits support to care for less-privileged

Igbo Buru Otu, a social cultural association with aims and objectives of bringing unity among the Igbos, has launched an Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), while calling for support from well-meaning Nigerians to care for the less-privilege.

The association also known for influencing human lives positively, bringing hope to the hopeless and down trodden in Nigeria also held their end of year/thanksgiving party and Award.

The epoch-making event which took place at White House at Ijegun recently witnessed the presence of crème de la crème in Nigerian police, industry giants and political icons in Nigeria. 

             

Speaking at the event, President of the Group, High Chief Chika Nwokedi (Okpoko 1 of Obodoukwu) said the group’s watchword is oneness of Ndigbo “Our watchword is oneness of the Igbo nation, unity in diversity of Nigeria, moutpiece of the poor, hope of the hopeless, safety for the unsafe.  It is the resolve of our association to encourage people who have distinguished themselves in different areas and services to God and humanity. “

On the Non-Governmental Oganisation of the association, Nwokedi said “It is also on record that we are now flaunting a Non- Governmental Organisation (NGO) to enable us carry out God given Assignment to the association. I call on all caring Nigerians to please partner with us so that together we shall salvage the helpless in this country Nigeria. We need fund to keep the hope of the hopeless alive, house the homeless and feed the have-not.”

He stated that the association loves the Nigeria Police “It is no more secret that our association loves and encourages Nigeria Police and other security agencies in Nigeria. This we have shown by giving awards to distinguished members of the Nigeria police, armed forces, navy, among other forces.“

Nwokedi then marshaled out a number of projects which the association has carried out for effective and efficient performance of Nigeria police personnel “It may interest you to know that our association has renovated police stations viz at Mushin, refurbished police vehicles, buy tyres and gone to the extent of furnishing police offices for ease in the job of keeping Nigeria secured by the police, among others.”
