Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU) Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun,
has congratulated lasu team for emerging best school delegation at Nigerian
International Tertiary Institutions Model United Nations conference ( NITIMUM
2019), saying that they are praiseworthy.
He said the team made the University proud by emerging the Best School
Delegation for a record third consecutive time, amongst winning other laurels.
In a press release signed by Ademola Adekoya, Coordinator, Centre for
Information, Press and Public Relations, LASU, Prof. Fagbohun noted that the
performance of the team and their advisers is praiseworthy and reflective of
the hard-work, excellence and the 'can-do' spirit that the Lagos State
University has come to be known for, in recent years.
The statement said the Vice Chancellor
was proud of the team and expressed special delight at the determination
and discipline they exhibited all through the four-day programme on their way
to emerging victorious.
"I feel elated that this team has once again brought glory to Lagos
State University by consolidating on the achievements of our previous
representatives. Their success at the NITIMUM is the hallmark of greatness and
I have no doubt that ahead of each and every member of the team, lies a bright
future," he said.
Acoording to the release, the Vice Chancellor, alongside an expanded
management team will host the delegation to a lunch on a soon-to-be-announced
date.
Categories and those that made the university proud include Best Delegate
in Peace Building Committee (Asaka Victory); Second Best Delegate UN Office on
Drug and Crime (Olaleye Ayobamikale Isaac); Best Delegate UN Office on
Drug and Crime (Abiona Olaide Oludayo); Third Best Delegate Economic and
Social Committee (Adelakun Tufayl Olalekan); Second Best Delegate Economic and
Social Committee (Akinsanmi Oladunni Hillary) and Third Best delegate General
Assembly (Amoo Feyikemi Adesola).
Others are Third Best Delegate Security Council (Omogunle Tolulope); Best
Delegate Security Council (Vera-Cruz Gbolahan); Second Best Rapporteur (Olaleye Ayobamikale
Isaac); Best Rapporteur (Ajayibembe Adetoun Janet); Second Best Conference
Official (Badru Damilola); Best Conference Official (Shotunde Oladimeji) and Best
Cultural Performance LASU
The release further outlined other categories and winners which include Overall Second Best
