LASU Centre of Excellence for SARGASSUM Research emerges overall winner of Tertiary Institutions Science, Technology, Innovation Expo, Abuja 2023

Lagos State University Centre of Excellence for Sargassum and Research (LASU CESAR) has emerged winner in the Tertiary Institutions Category of the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Expo, Abuja 2023. This was announced today, Friday, 20th January, 2023 at the Eagle Square, the venue of the exhibition/expo.  

It will interest you to note that over one hundred and thirty individuals participated in the expo while over three hundred and forty products were assessed by the team of assessors from the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation based on the following criteta; originality, creativity/innovativeness, cost effectiveness and efficiency, local raw materials, content/labelling/packaging, presentation, patent, contribution to national economic growth and sustainable development, potential for commercialization etc.

LASU CESAR Team shone like a million stars from the first day of the 5 day exhibition expo. The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Distinguished Senator, Dr. Olorunimbe Mamora, the Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, the Commissioner for Science and Technology in Lagos State, Mr Hakeem Fahm, the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State governor Mr Saheed Balogun, Heads of Research Institutes, Ministry Officials, Corporate Organisations, Captains of Industries etc were all impressed with the ingenuity of the LASU CESAR Team at the expo and some ready partner, collaborate and give neeeded support where necessary.
