 By Gilbert Ekezie

The Apostolic Discipleship Project, a Discipleship and Prophetic Mandate of end-time move for God, led by  the Founder and President, Chief Apostle Fidel Chimezie , with other God's Special Elects by Christ will be conducting a general prayer session, tomorrow, Sunday, June 27th, 2021.

These are some of the God's Elects that will participate in the prayer session tomorrow

The prayer titled: 'Awake the Elects to battle of the enemies of our portion and land, with our covenant tokens,' is for  the anointed Servants of God across Nigerian and beyond to intercede in order to redeem the land of Nigeria from her present challenges.

Individuals are also expected to join in the prayer exercise.

Chief Apostle Fidel Chimezie said the prayer becomes necessary  so that God will intervene and redeem the whole earth.

She said the prayer will be a one-time thing, and that in the process, God will intervene and rekindle the fire of salvation in the lives of everyone.

Chimezie called on all Special Elects to search their hearts and begin to meditate on the meaning and life transforming project.

"It is expected that the Holy Spirit will come and fill the hearts of the faithful and rekindle the fire of love, as written in Psalm 104. We really need to rekindle the fire of salvation, our love of God, so that he will fill and renew the whole earth."

The Chief Apostle informed that during the period, those participating in the prayer, will see God, communicate with him, agree with him and repent fully at the end. "It is not just praying for our land, we are also praying for ourselves. In fact, everyone will see the positive things that will come out of the prayer."

What Igbos need now is unity, says Nneka Chimezie …Maintains Igbos are on top of affairs in Nigeria

Success Damian:

Mrs. Nneka Chimezie, a business woman and real estate consultant, is also a human rights activist.

Chimezie is the chairman of an Igbo Newspaper, Ekwe Kuo Amagbaa and national coordinator, Igbo Women Forum, an organization that is affiliated to Alaigbo Development Foundation (ADF).

Having X-rayed the Igbo nation Chimezie who is popularly called Madam Pinto passed a verdict that what the Igbos need at this critical period is unity.

She maintained that unity must come first before agitation for either Igbo presidency, restructuring or Biafra.

“Right now I think what we need is unity among ourselves. What you don’t understand is that we are on top of affairs in this country, we are the backbone of this country; without us Nigeria is nowhere. It is like we don’t understand the kind of power we wield in Nigeria. We allow the press propaganda, the media to bring us down, to tell our own story. We allow people to tell our history, we allow people to introduce us. So we don’t really know the power we possess, our strength, our worth and Nigerians know our worth and they don’t want us to know it.

“They knew that if we know our worth, if this people can be this powerful, the best thing is to play them down so that they won’t know their worth. For me, I think what we need is unity of purpose, unity among us, respect for ourselves, love ourselves, and help ourselves, that is what we need,” she said.

Chimezie advised the Igbos to go and develop their home states “We need to go home and develop our own land, and make them come to our own land, because we run things, we run things in Lagos, we run things in Abuja, they all know it. If we don’t take our time and sit down and unite ourselves, we are going to be destroyed over time, they are doing it already, they have taken us out of white collar jobs, they have practically schemed us out, and they are also looking for a way, they have not been able to penetrate the business arena, but they will if we continue to play this I before others, this selfishness, being individualistic, I think that is the weak point they are using to destroy us, and allowing yourself to be used, being a saboteur, stabbing your brother in the back, otherwise, in fact, if we unite ourselves, Nigeria will beg us to rule them; they will ask us how did you do it?

She also spoke on the entrepreneurial and survivalist ability of the Igbos adding that the significant milestone made by the Igboman over the years through business is fast being ruined by politics “I think all we need now is to unite, if our fathers could survive with two Naira, and become what they are, what can we do with millions of naira that some of us have, some of us have millions they don’t know what to do with it. There is need for unity of purpose, I think politics has destroyed us more that it is building us, if you watch Igbo land, the people that build Igbo land are the businessmen, politics is destroying us, so much power is dissipated in politics that everybody wants to go into politics, I think there is need for the elders, if we even have them, to sit down and ask themselves this question, what do we need, what do we need to do? Let us leave Nigeria for now, let us talk within ourselves, how do we close our doors and settle our matter and then launch out for Nigeria to see us? If our fathers can fight the war with nothing, what can we do, but I think the war was more of internal than external, the war is more within us than outside, so I have never seen any house that is divided against itself and stood, a house that is divided against itself will never ever stand.”

Chimezie said the problem of the Igbos is the problem of division “I think the problem within us is more of the division among us than the oppression we get from outside, nobody can oppress the Igbos, if you know who an Igbo man is, no man can oppress and Igbo man, but it takes an Igbo man to oppress an Igbo man. Watch whenever you see an Igbo man being pulled down a fellow Igbo is under the table giving idea how it can be done.

“We are one man riot squad, too strong for Nigeria, Igbos are too intelligent, too smart for Nigeria to place us where we are. I think we are the ones marginalizing ourselves, cheating ourselves, maltreating ourselves. Anytime we decide to unite, how do we unite? If you find your brother being maltreated, even if he is wrong defend him outside, bring him in and caution him. Yes it might be the right thing to caution him out there, but that is not the language Nigeria speaks, must you be the one to speak the language of due process, this is the way it should be done, while others scheme out, we continue to fight, Nigeria doesn’t want it, it is divided along ethnic lines.

“So let us go home, if you find your brother wanting outside, defend him, then bring him in and caution, that is what others do, because if we start, and when you see your brother aspiring for something stand by his back, think that is our case point, that is our weakest point, if we can be giving ourselves that support we needed, we don’t need 9jer, we don’t even need the presidency, did we have presidency before we got this far?

“Let them keep their presidency, let us run things underground, our dear president entered and felt he can finish our businesses in one month just like they said they would finish war in two weeks, we just sit down and watched them and we laughed, they made their polices, but we quickly adjusted and begin to run things, so I think what we need now is unity of purpose, we can unite and speak with one voice, we have so many pressure groups speaking for us, these pressure groups should unite and speak with one voice, once they see you speaking with one voice, I don’t think we can be defeated, Chimezie emphasized.

Lagos lawmaker raises concerns over incessant vandalisation of Govt. assets in the southeast

Success Damian:

Hon. Jude Chukwuemeka Idimogu, Member Lagos State House of Assembly, Representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 2 on Thursday, raised concerns over incessant vandalisation of government assets in the south eastern part of the country.

Idimogu who is also the House Committee Chairman on Wealth Creation and Employment, Lagos State during a press conference, urged indigenes of the eastern region to shun violence and work harmoniously in ensuring safety of lives and properties.

The Lagos based politician appealed to  those behind the mayhem and chaos ravishing the five states, to desist from further damages on national and state assets.

Apparently worried on recent vandals on Independent National Electoral Commission, Police formations and Correctional Centres, he tasked Ndigbo to embrace peace and unity to stop the violence.

According to him, burning of assets in recent times is strange and unconventional among the Igbos, noting that such incidents only occurred outside the geo-political zone during the EndSAR protest.

He urged the Igbo nation to be wise and protect available assets of government and private owned institutions.

Idimogu who also condemned attack on security personnel within the region, maintained that such dastardly act would further engender the lives of people.

He kicked against any form of referendum or disintegration which according to him will further create pandemonium for the citizenry.

”My appeal to my brothers and sisters over there is for us to protect our structures. Structures of the federal government or state belong to us. Its our own and nobody can come and remove those assets, so instead of destroying those properties why don’t we work on how to get more and develop the ones available.

“We are just exposing ourselves to crime and attacks. The way and manners we are going about burning government properties will not help us because I believe there are better ways of doing things.

“Two wrongs do not make a right. I believe in the entity called Nigeria because Nigeria cannot break. I don’t see any good leader who will support the disintegration of this country,” Idimogu added.

Breaking: Ndigbo Worldwide Cultural Carnival makes a debut, replaces Alaigbo International Cultural Festival

Success Damian:

In a bid to ensure more global appeal, uniqueness and acceptability, Alaigbo International Cultural Festival would now be known and addressed as Ndigbo Worldwide Cultural Carnival.

Speaking through a press statement, Mrs Evelyn Okere Onyung, head of the Cultural Carnival, stated that apart from the change in name of the project, the vision and goal of the group remain sacrosanct.

The carnival with major objective of cultural integration and tool for peaceful co-existence; is billed to take place between December 30, 2021 and January 1, 2022 in Enugu State.

Okere in her word averred “It is not the ground that does the culture, but the people. ‘Alaigbo’ is to say the land of the Igbo, so the new name still has the Igbo. Who are the Igbo? Igbo are the people with the culture, so we now decided to change Alaigbo International Cultural Festival to Ndigbo Worldwide Cultural Carnival to make it more impactful.”

She stated that changing the name Alaigbo has not in any way diminished or affected the nuances, the idea and objectives of the carnival.

Omoragbon calls for expunction of section 225A of Nigerian Constitution

Success Damian:

Pastor Peters Osawaru Omoragbon, Governorship candidate of National Conscience Party (NCP) in Edo State between 2016 and 2020, has called on the National Assembly to expunge section 255a of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He said ”In line with the principles of Democracy and Social Justice,  the ideals of Freedom, Equality, and Justice and ultimately the need  for the continued recognition of the right to Freedom of Association,  the provisions of section 225A Constitution MUST be expunged, and the  provisions of section 228 restored in the Constitution.”

Omoragbon made the declaration in Asaba, Delta State as part of the memorandum which he submitted on the review of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the National Assembly.

A former House of Representatives Candidate, Kosofe Federal Constituency, Lagos (2003), Oredo Federal Constituency, (2015), and National Deputy Chairman, South-South, Omoragbo insisted that the Constitution never set a ceiling to the numbers of political parties to be formed by the citizens, adding that no political party is funded by the government, and queried why INEC would deny Nigerians their right and freedom of Association.

He advocated the need to review and amend the provisions of section 225a of the constitution.

He said “Section 225A of the Constitution provides that the Independent National Electoral Commission shall have power to  de-register a political party for: breach of any of the requirements for registration, failure to win at least twenty-five per cent of votes cast in one state of the Federation in a presidential election; or one Local Government of the State in a Governorship election, failure to win at least one ward in the Chairmanship election, one seat in the National or State House of Assembly election; or one seat in the Councillorship election.

He maintained that it is imperative to note that the Nigerian state is founded on the principles of Democracy and Social Justice, and the ideals of Freedom,  Equality and Justice, adding that Sections 13, 14(1) and 17(1) & (2) of the Constitution provides that it shall be the duty and responsibility of all organs of government, and  of all authorities and persons, exercising legislative, executive, or judicial  powers, to conform to, observe and apply the provisions of this Chapter of the Constitution.

Quoting copiously from the constitution, he said that the Federal Republic of Nigeria shall be a State based on the principles of democracy and social justice. “The State social order is founded on the ideals of Freedom, Equality and Justice. Every citizen shall have equality of rights, obligations and opportunities before the law.

“Now, if the Nigerian State is founded on the principles of Democracy and Social Justice, and the ideals of Freedom, Equality and Justice, and it is the duty and responsibility of the National Assembly to conform to, observe and apply these principles, then the National Assembly Must be guided by these principles in the exercise of its legislative functions, including amending the Constitution.”

Omoragbon stated that if “democracy” is defined as Government by the people, either directly or through representatives; “social justice” as Justice that conforms to a moral principle, such that all people are equal, then Democracy, has two elements, to wits: The right of direct participation in the government; and the right to participate in the government through elected representatives.

Clearly, he said, in enacting the provisions of section 225a of the Constitution, the National Assembly did not consider the fact that Nigeria is a state founded on the principles of Democracy and Social Justice and the ideals of Freedom, Equality and Justice.

He maintained that the right to Freedom of Association, as enshrined in section 40 of the Constitution, is principally meant to protect ones’ Interests.  He said interests are bound to vary with different people and groups. Further, he added that the right to Freedom of Association is intertwined with the rights to Freedom of Thought, Freedom of Expression and Freedom from Discrimination for one’s political views or affiliation

He averred that the thoughts and views of a group of people of like minds on national issues, give rise to their opinion and ideologies, the basis upon which political parties are formed. These rights he maintained are intrinsic and inalienable. It has been universally accepted that human rights stem from the attributes of man and are essential to the realization of human aspirations; adding that without human rights, life is meaningless and may be regarded as solitary, nasty, brutish, and short.

To amplify his claims he quoted the preamble of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states “…a recognition of the Inherent Dignity and of the Equal and Inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice, and peace in the world.”

Thus, he said that the provisions of section 225a which empowers the Independent National Electoral Commission to de-register political parties for failure to win election are antithetical to the Constitution and international best practices, and must be expunged from the Constitution.

Omoragbon stated that by virtue of the foregoing provisions of the Constitution, all Political parties are entitled to equal protection under the law and are entitled to continue to exist without undue interference from the government and its agencies.

Speaking on proposed remedies for breach of requirements for registration of political parties in place of section 225a of the constitution, he said Political parties, like other corporate entities, need to be regulated. “But the regulation must be kept within a clearly defined limit, to protect political parties against arbitrary powers of the ruling party and to ensure their continued existence.

Quoting a celebrated case he submitted, “The Supreme Court, in the celebrated case of INEC V. MUSA (2003) N. W, L. R. PART 806, PAGE 72  AT PAGE 160 PARAGRAPH C – E, held, that while the National  Assembly may make laws to provide for the registration, monitoring  and regulations of political parties, it cannot, in the guise of the exercise  of that power, decree conditions of eligibility of an association to  function as a political party. And, this was the whole essence of the provisions of section 228 of the Constitution, which the National Assembly, in its First Alteration Act of 2010, deleted from the Constitution.

Pointing at the provisions of the section, he said the National Assembly may by law, provide for the punishment of any person involved in the management or control of a any political party found after due enquiry to  have  contravened any of the provisions of section 221, 225(3) and  227 of this Constitution and for the disqualification of any person from holding public office on  the ground that he knowingly aids or abets a political party in  contravening section 225(3) of this Constitution.

He insisted that the provisions were enacted to protect and enhance the principles of Democracy and Social Justice and the ideals of Freedom, Equality and Justice, and ultimately the right to Freedom of Association. Under the provisions, the punishment for breach of any of the requirements for registration of political parties was targeted at the officers of the party found to have aided and abetted the breach, and not the political party itself.

“We offer lightning-speed transactions taking just 10-30 minutes every 24 hours of the week in regular circumstances. We even could do better if we find a more efficient web hosting system.
