Rev. Chigbu calls for sacrifice from politicians

Success Damian:

Reverend Father Daniel Chigbu of St. Kizito’s Catholic Parish in Ifelodun Local Council Development Area of Lagos has called on politicians to exhibit spirit of sacrifice and selfless service to the nation.

Chigbu was spoke during a vigil mass in expectation of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and administration of sacrament of baptism in the church.

He said the Easter celebration should be a period of sober reflection and quality service to the people.

He said a situation where a national lawmaker earns more than the American President is condemnable.

“In this country a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is earning N13 million a month, where is the sacrifice in a nation ravaged by abject poverty?

“A governor of a state where workers are owed 18 months’ salary went abroad to watch the Friendly between Nigeria and Serbia, Where is the sacrifice? It is utterly condemnable,” Chigbu said.
He said the politicians should emulate the sacrificial and peaceful nature of Jesus Christ who die for world.

He admonished those receiving the sacrament of baptism to work for God.
